January’s Frequent Flyer – Dr. Joseph W. King

Working in one city is great. Working in multiple cities is ever better, especially when you get to travel with Kenmore Air. As one of the premier refractive surgeons in the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada, Dr. Joseph W. King has offices in six locations. With his beautiful wife Holly and three little ones at home, he’s always looking to keep his commute time to a minimum. It’s a pleasure when we get to help out.

As a dual Canadian and US citizen, Dr. King’s education and training spread across both borders. Now he practices in the US and Canada with locations in Renton, WA; the Tri-Cities, WA; Portland, OR; Vancouver, B.C.; Victoria, B.C; and Edmonton, A.B. Since 1997, he has performed more than 75,000 laser vision corrective procedures. Over 99 percent of his patients no longer need prescription eyewear. Not only is he busy, but he’s pretty darn good at what he does. Wouldn’t you say?

Even with a packed schedule, making time for his family is a priority. Dr. King and Holly’s three children (William, Lucie, and Charlie) are extremely active at their local YMCA with taekwondo, basketball, and dance. The kids also compete during the summer for the Newport Hills Swim Club swim team. “It’s really good for them,” said Dr. King. “Throughout the year I rack up quite a few frequent flyer miles. We use them to take family vacations and we really like staying places with fun pools or that are close to the ocean. So, being able to swim is important.”

It is little wonder the King kids are such athletes. Holly and Dr. King are both avid runners. This year Holly will be running a half marathon in Modesto and Dr. King will be running the Boston Marathon.

Kenmore Air is wishing you both a speedy trip to the finish line!

I am so proud to see my nephew bestowed this honor! It could not be given to a nicer, more generous, human being.
I am also more than pleased that Dr. King did my lasik surgery on both eyes – it is so nice now to recognize people at the pool at the health club without corrective lenses!! as just one example. And, I was able to feel totally at ease during the procedure and after care. Thank you for this chance to express my admiration for the Joseph King family – they are beautiful people inside, too (which is more important, as we all know)!

Sharon – You are so sweet. He is an amazing man. Beyond his talents as a surgeon, it was amazing to hear a man literally glow as he talked about his family!

Upon reading the kind comments about my godson & nephew, Dr. Joseph W. King, M.D.,

it is great that others recognize that Joe is one of God’s own prototypes — never meant for

mass production. Thank you for acknowledging him.
