Born in Tokyo, Japan and raised in Honolulu, HI, conductor Sarah Hicks has secured her place among, “The next generation of up-and-coming American conductors,” said the New York Times. Later this month Sarah will join the Victoria Symphony as a guest conductor of their “A Night at the Opera” concert series.
Held at the Royal Theater, this unique concert will bring to life the full richness of Italian music. Selections will include songs from the popular film composer Ennio Morricone and timeless hits by legends Dean Martin and Enrico Caruso.
Sarah is the Principal Pops Conductor of the Minnesota Orchestra. Her work has been described by the St. Paul Pioneer Press as bringing, “Order amid thunder.” During her spare time she is a running, yoga posing, cooking and eating, traveling and sketching machine.
